BBBC Final Topic!

If this is your first BBBC... What did you get out of your experience? Do you think it will change the way you blog in the future?
Hum I'm gone on holiday and thought the BBBC was 7 days, so 7 subjects but the 6th is the final? Already finished?
Well I thought it was cool and fun and it made me go out my usual posts, and that was interesting to do.
If I find I find more challenges like that in the future I might do them too.
It reminded me a bit of flashmobs, when someone launches an idea and if it's a good one, everybody decides to follow.
Oh and one of my favorite blogger I admire and adore asked me about that BBBC so it made me realise that in fact, I have one reader :) And that is cool when you're a noobie blogger.

Topic #5 - Blogger's choice! SL blogger and SL designer

Topic #5 - Blogger's choice! Write about anything that's on your mind!

My subject will be: being a SL blogger and SL designer...
SL blogger is fun, I really enjoy it and do it for fun. I'm very new at this but already had tons of surprises since I do it.

People start to recognize you in the grid, some designers start to be nicer with you, you receive nice stuff and it's fun to take time to put a style together, take the time to take a cool picture and hope that people will have a look at it.

I was surprised after a few posts when I noticed that other bloggers were copycats. At start I was like WTF? Don't they have thousands of other items to post instead of the style I digged in my inventory and took days to make mad mixes to be original? Then I thought: oh ok that's how it is, it must be a sign of recognition that you are good or something. And also that we must have the same stuff so they accidentally picked up the same from your 50k inventory :) and now it just makes me smile. No need to catch a big head here, we are just mannequins.

The downside for me is when I see on other blogs: the poor quality of pictures, the lack of imagination, the deformed snapshots that make you look like aliens, and the poor sense of fashion when bloggers post ALL that they receive and don't even wonder if it goes together. I guess it's an editorial choice, but it's not mine. I'm for quality, not quantity. But again SL is just a copy of RL so that's how it is.

SL designer: I'm an alt, my main avatar has a great shop working well. I decided to do this avatar with a new business with totally different activities, no friend list, total challenge, starting from scratch. And it's a fight in the grid/jungle to become someone :) I just love to create things, and I love to take time to do it well and original.

I do things for fun and I hope people will like them, but my downside here is I noticed that the small stores lack totally of support from bloggers. Except a few curious and passionate ones, the others don't take the risk to show anything else than big names. So when you are a small name, you can be totally invisible.

And this is why I do both: blogger and designer! Now you know all :) I hope to see you in world or in my blogs ^^

Topic #4 - What's my age again?

BBBC Topic #4 - What's my age again?

SL Bloggers - Is your avatar more or less your current biological age? Do you portray a younger avatar, or older? Why is this?

I think we don't really have a choice in SL: most of the skins make you look like you're 25. So unless you go in extreme avatars and do a child avatar or very old person avatar, and unless you are really 25, you can't really be around your real age.
One day I was preparing a fashion style for my blog and a friend told me "you look like a child". I didn't realize as I was doing it but it made me angry and I immediately changed. So maybe our age in SL is not in our eyes but other's people eyes?
I quite like this apparent unity in age of SL because we don't have this psychological barrier not to speak to older or younger people that we could naturally have IRL.
The arrival of voice made funny and surprising situations because you can lie about your age but your voice doesn't :)
And to simply answer the question what's my age again? I'll be 4 years old in December and IRL I'm 33.

Topic #3 - Relationships

SL Bloggers - How hard do you think it is to find a relationship in SL? If you have an SL relationship, have you met in the physical world? Would you meet them? Do you think it would change your SL relationship if you met?

I think it's just like RL, if you go out, you meet people and sometimes it becomes a relationship. SL is exactly the same, you go around, you meet people who become friends and sometimes more. My main alt met 3 people in SL that became RL relations.
The 1st one called me by my family name as I was exploring a SIM and that was it. 2 weeks after we were together IRL, for at least... one weekend :) He came back to his country and I never heard of him again.
2nd was my SL partner 3 times but I didn't want a RL relation at the time. He said he was in love, and me I was depserately trying to explain him it was not real and I didn't want to go RL no matter what. He was more a soul brother to me and I wanted him as friend. We met RL but big mistake as we didn't have the same expectations. I broke his heart and now I do my best to be invisible in his SL.
3rd one, met IRL, lived together, and to sum up in one word: ouch

I believe online relations and SL relations can go as fast as they come. Try not to be naive with that. The feelings you have can be real but be aware that they can go only in one way and the person in front of you can be playing. Also online feelings are exagarated because you use your imagination to represent the person, and that is not real. So if you decide to take the step to meet IRL, think well and take your time to discover the person in real.

And on final happy note: 2 friends of mine who met in SL 3 years ago and live at each side of the earth are going to get married soon :)

By my side I go on on my road with my fiance, met IRL 4 years ago, with him for more than a year now, and we plan to spend the next 120 years together :)

SL Bloggers - Write about three positive things going on in your Second Life

1) SL saved my RL. A friend made me discover it when I was a fresh broken heart, totally depressed, not going out anymore, taking anti depressants, all contacts cut with my friends and family. The people I met in SL gave me the energy to fight that state and get my life back on track. Now I have the best life possible, I reconnected with the outside world, I go out (maybe too much but that's also my job ^^). So yes, SL was my best therapist and it saved my life :)
2) Everything that I learned and still learn today in SL! 3 years ago, I could barely use photoshop, I had no idea what 3D was and how it was made. Script was like Martian language... I was lucky to meet very inspiring people who became good teachers for me. And at my turn, I teach all I can to whoever needs it
3) I travel a lot IRL, and I was lucky to meet a lot SL people who are now RL friends
